We are excited to share news about the 2016 TC Patriot Game! There’s no doubt that we wouldn’t be where we are today if we hadn’t received the proceeds from the 2015 game. This is an amazing event that benefits those who have sacrificed so much for us! Visit http://www.tcpatriotgame.com for more information and come out to Thirlby Field on Friday, Sept. 9 to support our veterans!
The annual clash between the Traverse City Central and West High Schools is more than just an exciting football game. It’s an event to honor those who answered the call to serve our country. Many men and woman, who at one time had their feet on Thirlby Field, now have their feet on foreign soil while serving in the United States military.
This game honors their service, along with police and firefighters that put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe. The game takes place just days before the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attack on September 11th.
Active duty military, Veterans, and first responders are invited to attend a pre-game Tailgate Party starting at 5:45 p.m. on the north side of Thirlby Field. They are then invited to come down to the field for a pre-game ceremony to recognize their service.
Commemorative 5th Annual TC Patriot Game t-shirts will be available in August at area new car dealerships and both schools. Proceeds will benefit Veteran To Veteran, a program that helps Veterans return to civilian life by mentoring with other Veterans.
Dogs in Honor will be at the Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm for National Alpaca Farm Day on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 11 am – 5 pm! The event will have a silent auction featuring items from many local business, with all proceeds benefiting Dogs in Honor! We are so excited to be recognized at this event and will be there to talk to guests about our organization!
Two schools are setting their rivalries aside to come together for a good cause. Traverse City Central and Traverse City West will play to pay tribute to our service men and women for the fourth annual patriot game.
Friday night, Traverse City West and Traverse City Central battled it out on the grid iron. Before kickoff, both teams came together to honor the men and women who have served our country, all for the fourth annual Patriot Game.
Dogs in Honor will be receiving all the proceeds from this year’s Traverse City Patriot Game t-shirt sales so they can help other vets in the area receive service dogs like James did with Compass Rose.
Take a look at pictures from the 4th Annual TC Patriot Game! All commemorative shirt sales were donated to Dogs in Honor to help local veterans. Thank you to everyone who attended the game and supported this event and our organization! We could not be more thankful for all of the continued support and are excited for the opportunity to continue helping our local veterans by pairing them with service dogs!
The annual Patriot Game has only grown in stature since it was started three years ago. Aside from the game itself, a veterans memorial statue will be unveiled after the coin toss, special honorary captains have been selected and this year’s recipient from the Patriot Game T-shirt sales proceeds, Dogs of Honor, will be present.
A statue to remember fallen heroes, honor veterans and show appreciation to active military members. The statue arrived at Thirlby Field right before the fourth annual Traverse City patriot game next Friday.
